In the mood of ‘merdeka’

Published by flexin-am at 11:30 pm under My Philosophy

I might be not patriotic enough because I am writing this in English.

Last night, I went to DTSP with the Japanese for Ambang Merdeka. They kinda attract people to see them as they shouting and screaming and I was pretty ashamed when they did that. But anyway, it’s fine.

I don’t really like to go to Ambang Merdeka. Because I know that it’s going to be lot of singing and I just don’t really like to be in a chaotic place. I thought I was wrong because when I reached the scene, it was time where Aman Damai gave their presentation - somekind of reading poem but kinda in different way. And then come the drama by USM staff which is really inspiring. But then, when  pak guard of USM came in and sing, I didn’t feel the spirit of merdeka there.

Well, the Japanese taught me something. They talked about Malaysia in their presentation. They really appreciate people and adore our relationship crossing the race and ethnic. I guess I feel lucky a lil bit coz I live in this peace country.

But (yeah, there surely a but, if it’s not, why do I have to write), I just questionise when it comes to one presentation in DTSP. They sing and the students in the audicene seat dance. The light was dim and there’s spotlight moving here and there, where I feel like I’m in a disco. Ergh. So, is this what we get from merdeka. I know some people will say, they want to have fun. I ‘was’ having fun watching the very inspirational drama. That’s is having fun. Dancing like Kevin-Britney chaotic’s show isn’t the way to potray the gratitude of merdeka.

I went to Sony factory, Petronas Fertiliser and some other place with the Japanese. And yes, I feel gratitude coz we had our own strength compare to 49 years ago. I listen to the talk given by CAP President, and lecturers (given to the Japanese), and I knew we are changing to make this country a better place to live in.

I would not deny how our country develop in such a good way. But, last night while I listen to fireworks ‘bombing’ the air, in my room (coz I went out from DTSP early), I pray to the one and only God, I hope this country will stay peaceful and I hope we’re not just going to develop in politic, economy, social but also in term of ’sahsiah’.

Don’t we feel ashamed to call ourself as Muslim but we’re always late for meeting, throwing rubbish anywhere that we like, embracing the lifestyle of westeners etc.
