Si Tenggang’s Homecoming

Uhuh, seems like a serious topic, but I won’t be talking in term of serious perspective.

I always talk English whenever I want to talk about relationship. Conversing in Bahasa Malaysia make me feel … not stupid as Sharifah Amani would say, it’s just make me feel uncomfortable. Not because I was so damn good about English (in fact my sister keep correcting me - ‘at the same time’ not ‘on the same time’ which I keep forgetting now and then), but when I learn about relationship, I was surrounded by English talking atmosphere.

I am not gonna tell that if I think it’s kinda boasting, but in fact, it is a little bit funny. As my house was very close to school (just like 100m away, which I usually goes to school 5 to 10 minutes before the bell rings), my friends like to hang out in my house after school. Namely, Mahadi, Anuar, Jet, Salmi, Mirza etc. And as one of my friend Anuar was falling in love with a girl, so we surely wanna talk about it. But (there is a but there), as this is some kin
d of topic which we don’t talk it at home(what can I say, I was 12 years old when my sister get married, so no chance to hear about that coz she only talked to my mom via phone, and my bro were not open about this topic), so I was totally freak out to talk about it in my house and let my mom hear about it.

So, I tell my friends, if you wanna talk about ‘love and relationship’, talk in English. Coz my mom and dad wasn’t good in it. And since that time, I’m so used to talk about relationship in English. Surely I can talk in Malay with people, but not in here. It will make me feel awkward to write the word ‘cinta’ itself. Now, if I can blush, I’m blushing and my idea suddenly truncated.
