Sometimes we fail to see a bigger picture

Published by flexin-am at 2:25 pm under My Philosophy

A long time since I wrote under this category. Sitting on my couch (actually just a chair, but couch does sound better, innit?) I think, how sometimes we fail to see a bigger picture. Of what? Of ourselves.
.

Some people try very hard to become other person. Under a circumstance where we want to become a better person, adoring some other human being because of their richness of heart and attitude, I always agree that it is good try on that. Try on becoming someone better. That is one of the purpose of life. Learn what is wrong and what is right, learn from the past mistake and try to become a better man (Robbie Williams’ song start to play in my head).

.

But in general case, we usually love to become other person of how they look like. We hope of becoming someone who we consider doesn’t fall under our league. Probably because we are too fat, or too skinny, not muscular enough or not petite enough, do not have designer cloth and cool mobile phone; all of our dreams of having the opposite of that totally for wrong reasons. We want to be fit but not because we want to be healthy, but to woo and impress some girls or guys. We want to wear fancy things, not just because we think it looks nice, but to show that we got some class that other people don’t. We want to have some big car and cool mobile phone that can have all of the function it possible so fFrame
ar, not because we want to have a smooth and safer journey (for car, as more expensive cars do have more things to offer) or so that we can read our email on our phone, and make an ease of sending some pictures to friends, but just as to show off and never really use most of the function.

.

I am using the word ‘we’, because I think that I may have that kind of bad intention once and a while. And I told myself, I just don’t see the bigger picture.

.

I give you one example and I am sure that you will be able to relate with yourself. I am skinny. It is. With 174cm and 54.8kg, you can count my BMI and see for yourself. I was feeling inferior because of it, yada yada yada, all past stories. That is what I was thinking when I sat on my couch. I am relatively healthy, not having aneroxia of course, but I’m just skinny. Some people do mention about my weight but I think that I shouldn’t care much about that. I have the luxury of eating whatever I want, and whenever I want. I can eat before sleep and I can have snack between the meal and I can eat delicious food a lot without having worries some people have. It is a luxury but I sometimes failed to see it.

.

You can go on, thinking of the luxury you have of being yourself. I guess I don’t have to start comparing ourselves with the unlucky disable people out there because just by comparing to them, we are sure that we are lucky enough to be our own self.
