Enough about the dreadful emotion, at least on the blog. Now I want to answer a question sent by a reader of my blog. She is a stranger and she just suddenly wondered. So here’s the question

ANSWER:

Salam and hi,

.

No problem, it is not a personal question at all. I am all happy to answer such question. Personal question usually revolve around topic such as - relationship, ‘bila nak kawin’, ‘dah ada ke belum’ and the list goes on - and that is the things I hate to answer. In this case, I love to share my thoughts  (or my friend Kak Khalidah will define this ‘aktiviti mengglamorkan diri’).

Choosing to be a teacher is probably due to a lot of factors. First, it is probably due to the fact that it runs in my blood. Like a warrior son has the skills of fighting, a teacher’s son has the interest to stand in front and talk (or share, but don’t use the latter word coz it’s so lame).

Family Factor
.

My dad was and still a teacher, not a government teacher. He used to taught in ‘dewasa’ class back when the televisions are rare
and just has black and white colour (how come I’m fascinated with my own words?). That was before he join Felda. My sister is a teacher. My uncle is a teacher. My brother in law is a teacher in the same school as my sis. My sister in law teaches in kolej komuniti. My cousins are teachers:-
i- Kak Cik works in SK Haji Omar Tahir
ii - Kak Cik’s husband works in Maktab Perguruan Sultan Abdul Hamid
iii - Abg Teh (Kak Cik’s brother) teaches in Yan
iv - Mas (Kak Cik’s niece, my dua pupu) teaches as well.
v - Abg Shakir is a teacher
vi - Kak Nik (Abg Shakir’s wife, which is my cousin in law) is a teacher

Satisfaction?

.

Other than that, the reason of how I am so enthusiastic (quoting your word) is probably come from a joyful moment I had experienced when I teach. It is just a feeling that comes when I look into my students faces and they kinda go like ‘ow… I get it now’, which is really satisfying.

.

No praise, no thanks needed. Just pure faces of students understanding it. Some students did have emotionless faces but it is okay. Some are putting on their unnecessary ‘adoring’ faces which creeps me out (I don’t want to elaborate on that).
.

Recently I lose my will to go to class as I couldn’t concentrate on preparing my tutorial due to dealing with procedures of going to UK. But still, my Wednesday class reminded me of how fun it is to sit in front and share what I got.
.

A realisation of how everyone is not stupid. You just gotta tweak something to make them understand. And to be someone who do the ‘tweaking’, made me feel special. I got some other things that I like to do, but teaching is the one I’m foreseeing myself doing. So that’s why.

Yeah, those kind of things. It is hard to explain I guess.
